During her long career in theatre as Director, Actor, Teacher, Dialect Coach and Writer, Janet Rodgers has continued to be devoted to the highest principles of the art of theatre.

Writing/Performing

GUT This riveting true story of Irena Gut, a young Catholic Polish girl who risked everything to save countless Jewish lives during WW2. At the end of the war when Poland was taken over by the Soviets, these Jewish men and women, saved her.  It is a story of love, compassion, courage and human respect.

Acting and Singing with Archetypes

Moving between narration (prose) and poetic form GUT was adapted from Irena Gut Opdyke’s autobiography, In My Hands.  Since 2019, Ms. Rodgers has performed the piece in libraries, churches, synagogues and theatres on both the east and west coasts and most recently in Mexico.

Acting and Singing with Archetypes

Her work with Frankie Armstrong has been a major focus of her research, writing and workshops. The book that she co-wrote with Frankie Armstrong, Acting and Singing with Archetypes, is a guide for artists of all disciplines who wish to expand their palate of creative artistic choices. Janet is available for guest residences at theatres and universities.
